1 PETER 5:5-11

#1. LIVE HUMBLY

1 Peter 5:5b-6 “And all of you, dress yourself in humility as you relate to one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” 6 So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor.

Luke 10:43-44 "But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must be the slave of everyone else."

1 Peter 5:7 “Give [CAST] all your worries [ANXIETIES] and cares to God, for he cares for you.”

 

#2. LIVE EYES WIDE OPEN

1 Peter 5:8 “Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour."

Matthew 7:7-8 7“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened."

 

#3. LIVE STANDING FIRM and STRONG

1 Peter 5:9 “Stand firm against him and be strong in your faith. Remember that your family of believers all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering that you are."

1 Corinthians 10:12 "If you think you are standing strong, be careful not to fall. 13 The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure"

 

#4. LIVE EMBRACING YOUR SUFFERING

1 Peter 5:10 “In His kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So, after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation.”
